Tab Limiter

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

Tab Limiter does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data. Everything the extension stores stays on your own device.

What the extension stores

Tab Limiter saves only the settings you choose:

These settings are stored using Chrome's built-in storage. If you have Chrome Sync enabled, Chrome may sync them across your own signed-in devices through your Google account. In that case the data is handled by Google under Google's own privacy terms. The developer of Tab Limiter never receives, sees, or has access to this data.

Access to your tabs

To enforce your limit, Tab Limiter needs to know how many tabs are open and, for the allowlist feature, the domain of a tab. This information is read only on your device, used only at the moment a tab is opened, and is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere. Tab Limiter does not keep a history of the sites you visit.

No tracking or analytics

Tab Limiter contains no analytics, no tracking scripts, no advertising SDKs, and no remote code. It does not set cookies and does not profile you.

Affiliate and support links

The extension's blocked page includes a Trip.com affiliate link and a Buy Me a Coffee link. These are ordinary links. If you choose to click one, you are taken to that third party's website, which has its own privacy practices that the developer does not control. Tab Limiter itself does not track whether you click these links; any tracking that occurs happens on the destination site after you arrive there, the same as clicking any link on the web. You are never required to click them.

Children

Tab Limiter is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
